The Influence of Process
The manufacturing process also has an important influence on the hardness of zinc wheel weights. If it is manufactured by die casting, the liquid zinc alloy is formed under high pressure. Due to the fast cooling speed of the alloy during die casting and the dense structure, its hardness will be slightly higher than that produced by simple casting process. Moreover, after die casting, some subsequent processing, such as cold working (such as slight stamping of the surface of the balance weight), can also improve its hardness to a certain extent.
