1. Scissor car lift
Preparation
Before adjusting the height of the lifting arm, first make sure that the lift is in a fully lowered state and the vehicle is properly parked in the specified position of the lift. At the same time, check whether the power connection of the lift is normal and the surrounding environment is safe to avoid obstacles affecting the operation during the adjustment process.
Operation steps
Scissor car lift are usually controlled by a hydraulic system to lift and lower. On the console of the lift, there are buttons for raising and lowering. To raise the lifting arm, press the raising button. The hydraulic pump inside the lift will start working and deliver hydraulic oil to the corresponding hydraulic cylinder. The piston of the hydraulic cylinder will push the scissor structure to extend, thereby raising the lifting arm.
Generally speaking, during the lifting arm rising process, you can determine whether the lifting arm has reached the required height by observing the height scale on the lift. Some lifts are also equipped with an automatic stop device, which automatically stops when the lifting arm reaches the preset height to ensure safety. If there is no automatic stop device, the operator needs to pay close attention to the height change and release the lifting button immediately once the appropriate height is reached.
Precautions
During the lifting process of the scissor car lift, ensure that the center of gravity of the vehicle is evenly distributed. If the center of gravity of the vehicle is offset, it may cause the lift to tilt, posing a safety hazard. At the same time, avoid over-lifting and exceeding the rated lifting height of the lift, which may damage the structure of the lift.
2. 2 post car lift
Preparation
Before adjusting the height of the lifting arm of the 2 post car lift, ensure that the vehicle is parked in the correct position. The 2 post car lift has two columns, and the tires of the vehicle should be located in the right position under the lifting arm of the column. Also check whether the mechanical parts of the lift are normal, such as whether the chain, wire rope, etc. are loose or damaged.
Operation steps
The 2 post car lift generally uses a motor to drive the chain or wire rope to achieve the rise and fall of the lifting arm. Operate the up button on the control box, the motor starts, and drives the chain or wire rope to move. The chain or wire rope will pull the lifting arm up along the column.
During the lifting process, judge whether the lifting height is appropriate by observing the contact between the lifting arm and the vehicle chassis and the height indicator on the lift. When the lifting arm contacts the appropriate support point of the vehicle chassis and reaches the required height, release the up button. Some two-post lifts also have a safety locking device, which will automatically lock when the lifting arm reaches a certain height to prevent accidental descent.
Precautions
Pay attention to the tension of the chain or wire rope during the use of the 2 post car lift. If you find any abnormal looseness or tightness, stop the operation and check it in time. In addition, when lifting the vehicle, make sure that the contact position of the lifting arm and the vehicle chassis is correct to avoid damage to the vehicle chassis.
