Post Lift Introduction

The post lift is an important equipment used for car repair and maintenance. It can lift the car to a certain height, which is convenient for maintenance personnel to inspect, repair and maintain the bottom of the vehicle.

1.Types of post lift

① Two-post lift: It consists of two columns, a lifting slide, a safety device, etc. Its advantages are simple structure, convenient operation, and small footprint, which is suitable for the repair and maintenance of small cars. However, the lifting weight of the two-post lift is relatively small, which is not suitable for large vehicles.

② Four-post lift: It consists of four columns, a lifting platform, a safety device, etc. Its advantages are large lifting weight and good stability, which is suitable for various types of cars. However, the four-post lift occupies a large area and is relatively complicated to operate.

③ Scissor lift: It consists of crossed scissor arms, a hydraulic system, a safety device, etc. Its advantages are small footprint, convenient operation, and fast lifting speed, which is suitable for the rapid repair and maintenance of small cars. However, the lifting height of the scissor lift is relatively low, which is not suitable for deep repair of the bottom of the vehicle.

2.Working principle of the post lift

The lift mainly uses the hydraulic system to post lift the car. When the hydraulic pump is working, it delivers hydraulic oil to the hydraulic cylinder, pushing the piston of the hydraulic cylinder up, thereby driving the lifting platform of the lift to rise. When it needs to be lowered, open the hydraulic valve to let the hydraulic oil flow back to the oil tank, the piston of the hydraulic cylinder drops, and the lifting platform also drops.

3.Safety devices of the post lift

① Safety lock: After the lift rises to a certain height, the safety lock will automatically lock to prevent the post lift from accidentally falling. Only after pressing the unlock button will the safety lock open, allowing the lift to descend.

② Limit switch: When the post lift rises to the limit position, the limit switch will automatically cut off the power supply to prevent the post lift from continuing to rise and avoid danger.

③ Overload protection: If the weight borne by the post lift exceeds its rated load, the overload protection device will automatically start and stop the lift from rising to protect the safety of equipment and personnel.

4.Precautions for using the post lift

① Choose a suitable post  lift: Choose a suitable post lift according to the type and weight of the vehicle. Do not use a vehicle that exceeds the rated load of the lift to avoid danger.

② Check the status of the post lift: Before using the post lift, check whether the various components of the lift are intact, whether the hydraulic system is normal, and whether the safety device is effective. If any problems are found, they should be repaired or replaced in time.

③ Correctly operate the post lift: When operating the lift, follow the operating procedures and do not change the operating steps at will. During the lifting and lowering process, pay attention to observe the status of the vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is stable.

④ Regularly maintain the post lift: After the lift has been used for a period of time, it needs regular maintenance and maintenance. Check the sealing of the hydraulic system, the reliability of the safety device, the wear of each component, etc., and replace the damaged parts in time.
