About adhesive wheel weights

What’s the difference? Let’s cover them!

1.Adhesive wheel weights – spray-coated

This is just a powder of a specific color. For example, we made them in black. Because they are perfect for darker rims.

Obviously, you can find adhesive wheel weights in other colors as well. However, black is the most common choice – they fit dark rims. Because of their color, you can easily hide them behind the spokes of the wheel. We also have white, gray, red, blue and other colors to choose from.

2.Adhesive wheel weights – galvanized

Galvanized weights are treated with zinc. This means that they are less prone to corrosion – which is obvious if the car is driven on salty roads.

How to choose adhesive wheel weights?

When looking for adhesive wheel weights, consider the following points:

  • Design
  • Surface protection
  • Ease of installation on the rim.

1.Design

Most cars have been using small tires for a long time. By default, most modern cars have rims of 17 or even 18 inches. Road conditions are getting better all over the world, so more and more car owners are choosing ALU rims. Therefore, choosing the right wheel weight becomes crucial.

The bigger the rim, the greater the risk that the weight will look like an element that was accidentally stuck there. It should fit better with the overall rim design - so it's better to choose a silver weight or a black wheel weight.

2.Surface protection

Before choosing a certain type of adhesive wheel weights, always check how its surface is protected. Don't be afraid to ask the seller. Usually, adhesive wheel weights are protected with an epoxy surface. Galvanizing is another popular way to protect its surface.

Why is this so important?

Because by galvanizing or spraying the weights, they are less prone to corrosion. This also allows them to maintain their appearance for longer.

3.Ease of installation

Have you ever calculated how many cars you have to repair every day? Maybe 30. Or maybe 40. All this takes time. A lot of time. You have to remove each wheel, balance it, and then install it again. This is time consuming.

The adhesive tape on the adhesive wheel weights can be easily removed from the surface. In a good quality wheel weight, the tape will stick out of the edge. You can simply grab the tape with your hands and remove it. It saves a lot of time, which will make your job easier when you are dealing with many cars.
